Reshape a Felt Hat with a Steamer

1. Steam the Problem Areas: Begin by steaming the sections of your hat that need reshaping. Hold a steamer near the hat, allowing the steam to penetrate the felt and soften it.
2. Manipulate the Hat: Use your hands to gently push out dents or straighten the brim. Work the areas into the desired shape while the felt is pliable from the steam. Take care not to overly wet the hat. If it becomes too damp, allow it to dry before continuing the reshaping process.
3. Let the Hat Cool: Once you're satisfied with the hat's new shape, set it aside to cool and solidify. This ensures that the felt retains its reshaped form.

If you don't have access to a steamer,  the steam from a hot shower will do the trick.

HOW TO FIX A SMASHED HAT WITH A BOILING POT 

Another method you can use is boiling water. Bring water to a boil in a tea kettle or a pot.

Note: Avoid putting your hat in the clothes dryer, as it can cause shrinkage and further distort its shape.
